Installing a rotisserie on your Santa Maria grill can enhance your grilling experience by allowing you to cook a wider range of meats and dishes, and achieve even cooking throughout your food. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install a rotisserie on your Santa Maria grill.

1. Purchase Rotisserie Mounting Brackets

You need to buy a rotisserie kit that is compatible with the Santa Maria Grill. Using the custom bracket set from JD Fabrications is the best way to ensure that your rotisserie is compatible.

Make sure that the kit comes with a motor, spit rod, forks, and mounting brackets.

2. Attach the Mounting Brackets

Locate the mounting brackets that came with the kit and attach them to the back of your grill. Make sure to secure them tightly using bolts or screws. The brackets should be positioned so that the spit rod will be centered over the fire when installed.

3. Insert the Spit Rod

The spit rod is where the meat will be held on the rotisserie. Attach the forks to it and make sure everything is evenly spaced. Fasten it tightly and use as many forks as necessary to hold it. This will depend on the size and overall shape of the meat you plan to cook.

4. Connect the Motor

Connect your motor to the spit rod by sliding the motor end onto the spit rod and tightening the clamp. The motor mounting bracket shouldn’t get in the way of the spit so make sure it’s level and centered before plugging it in.

5. Test it Out

Make sure everything operates smoothly and then you’re ready to enjoy whatever you plan to cook first!

There are several benefits to having a rotisserie on your Santa Maria grill. First, it allows you to cook a wider range of meats, including larger cuts such as whole chickens, turkeys, and roasts.

The rotating motion of the spit rod ensures that the meat is cooked evenly on all sides, resulting in juicy, flavorful meat that is sure to impress your guests.

Additionally, a rotisserie can save time and effort by allowing you to cook your meat and side dishes at the same time. For example, you can cook a large roast on the rotisserie while grilling vegetables or potatoes on the grates below.
