How to install JD Fabrications log lighter assist to your Santa Maria Grill or Argentine Grill.

- Log Lighter Kit
- Propane Bottle

- Two crecent wrenches
- Philips screw driver
How to install steel gas log lighter in Santa Maria and Argentine Style Grills?
- Gather all gas lighter kit parts
- Tighten 3/8″ steel gas tube into the inner 3/8″ threaded brass bung. (Not on the brass 1/2″ threaded end.)
- From the inside of the grill insert the threaded brass end through the 1″ hole.
- Take the lock nut and place it over the threaded end outside the firebox.
- Loosely thread on the 1/2″ brass lock nut
- Make sure that the holes on the burner are facing up.
- Tighten the brass fitting secure.
- Insert 3/8″ male to 1/2″ female over the male 1/2″ threads outside the firebox.
- Take the mixing valve and thread the 3/8″ side over the 3/8″ male in step 4.
- Insert the brass 1/2″ male to 3/8″ flare male fitting and insert it into the mixing valves 1/2″ opening.
- Connect your LPG regulator hose.
- If installing on a drop in firebox you may need a 3/8″ to 3/8″ yellow gas hose extender sold at a home improvement store.
- Connect regulator to propane bottle note
- Take a Philips screw driver and loosen the silver flap on the mixing chamber until you have a 1/8″ gap.
- This will allow oxygen to mix with gas creating a clean flame.
- Turn on – open up propane bottle valve
- If you hear a loud hissing sound or smell gas then your regulator (red knob) is open.
- turn (red knob) counter clockwise until smell and gas noise is gone.
- With a match or log lighter open the regulator 1 turn and light log lighter tube.
- If the flame appears to be black or dark orange adjust the mixing chamber is step 9.
How to install gas log lighter in Stainless Santa Maria and Argentine Style Grills?
- Gather all gas lighter kit parts
- Tighten brass 1/2″ female to 3/8″ male fitting to the stainless log lighter threaded end.
- Tighten 3/8″ brass log lighter tube end into the inner 3/8″ threaded brass bung. (Not on the brass 1/2″ threaded end.)
- From the inside of the grill insert the threaded brass end through the 1″ hole.
- Take the lock nut and place it over the threaded end outside the firebox.
- Loosely thread on the 1/2″ brass lock nut
- Make sure that the holes on the burner are facing up.
- Tighten the brass fitting secure.
